The mayor and other city councils must decide whether to dissolve their current community-based Sarnia Police Service (SPS) and replace it with the OPP contract policing. The city’s request for proposal had created a lot of discomfort for the PLC employees and had polarized the entire community. After analyzing the OPP contract offer, the city planned to make several adjustments to the figures provided to more closely reflect the current state of the service of the PLC.
