Celanese, a global leader in the chemical industry, had a number of years spent implementing a single instance ERP solution and the integration of the Head of IT functions in a shared services model. Around 2007, after years of application and IT service growth, many believed in Celanese IT that their internal processes in a desperate need for close coordination and discipline were process. They looked to Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to guide their process integration effort. This case describes the first three years of the IT organization of the trip with the ITIL process framework.
