In spring 2000, HKL was confronted with major changes in the economic conditions in the Central District in Hong Kong, where he was the leading owner of Grade A retail and office properties. It had taken a report from consultants to the company on the development of Grade A office and retail markets and the impact it could have on the Company’s business, to be informed. One of the main questions was how the company reposition aging properties to achieve optimum return in a highly competitive market.
