With the recent announcement by the Chinese government that the country’s health care system would undergo reform, asked Jiamei Dental Chairman Liu Jia, which was serious for his 15-year-old dental clinic. Founded in 1993, drove Jiamei Dental Medical Management Group (“Jiamei”) on the wave of China’s rapid economic development and China had the largest private dental chain with 84 hospitals in Beijing and seven other large cities. But China has been rapidly changing and admitted that Liu Jiamei ongoing expansion of many factors beyond their control depends, notwithstanding state reform Jiamei was also faced with pressures from his private equity general partners. The year 2009 is shaping up to be a crucial one was for Jiamei. It was planned to open dozens more clinics during the year. At the same time, Liu was facing stiff competition from regional and international private dental clinic competitors, high-end private hospitals, and now possibly the government. These factors provided new complexities in the expansion plans of the entrepreneurial firm.
