The NHL has called for a salary cap imposed in the next collective bargaining agreement and has threatened a lockout by owners when the Players Association does not agree. The NHL has implemented a successful communication strategy and has the support of the public. Goodenow must decide how to proceed, go to a favorable position to win in the negotiations and keeping the loyalty of the fans, which depends on the sport.
