Mexico City Junior League, the Mexican chapter of the Junior League International was founded a civil society organization to promote volunteer work, the potential of women and community improvement. Tetra Pak was the world leader in the manufacture of multilayer packaging. In the mid-1990s, parts of urban waste, such as multi-layer packaging materials are not returned to Mexico. Every month disposed of Mexico City alone of 35 million containers of this type, which took 35 years to decompose. In 1995, the two organizations have entered into a partnership to recycle these containers. They jointly launched a program called “recyclable by Nature” and invited all parties benefit from multi-layer packaging to connect to the division of responsibility for their disposal. The program consisted of manufacturers, marketers, consumers and even the local administration.
