Samsung Tesco Homeplus (STH), one of the major consumer markets of Korea increased its investment in social contribution activities and systematized the organization responsible in the following period. It especially focuses on education and cultural services to share saving the environment and with others. As a result of STH December 2008 was one of the most innovative companies and one that realizes considered true customer value. There was a variety of awards won as the Green Management Award Social Contribution Award and the company Eco-Friendly Management Award. After creating a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team in 2005, he won the award by the CSR British Chamber of Commerce in Korea given and was selected as one of the most admired companies in Korea. While much progress had been made, said company executives, what factors would be the key to their continued CSR activities. This case shows points of contention and problems in the practice of corporate social responsibility of STH.
