The Madurai District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. as Madurai Aavin Milk Dairy (MAMD) is known one of the largest dairies in the southern part of Tamil Nadu, India. One of the most important activities in the supply chain MAMD was the procurement of milk from the farmers and also the necessary technical input system to provide them. The procurement was conducted by forming village-level milk producers’ cooperatives (MPCs). The supply of raw milk from the farmers around Madurai Aavin is declining, while the demand increases. Several strategies have been explored by Aavin to meet the demand for their main product, “premium milk”. Aavin two challenges: 1 Forecast of demand for premium milk and 2 Meet demand in an optimal way that would maximize their profits.
