The case follows the vice president of corporate information technology from the time of his arrival in Alcan: his observations about the current state of IT management, his appointment to the position of Chief Information Officer and the development of its new strategic plan for the IT management. Part A presents the main features and challenges of IT management at Alcan until mid-2006. Part B is the most important concepts and elements of the new strategic plan for CIO IT management. Students are encouraged to represent the characteristics, impacts and challenges of IT management in a large global organization to reflect.
