“Sowing the development of the country” (SDC) was a public-private partnership between Wal-Mart Puerto Rico (Wal-Mart PR), the island Department of Agriculture and Economic Development Bank (EDB), two NGOs “Caborrojeños Pro Salud y Ambiente “(Caborrojeños Pro Health and Environment) and ConectaRSE (a corporate social responsibility (CSR) support non-governmental organization (NGO)), and a group of local farmers. The aim of the project was to promote sustainable development on the island by encouraging farmers to become entrepreneurs. Due to the development of small agro-enterprises Wal-Mart acted as the primary buyer. The project is connected with many difficulties, such as farmers access difficulties in meeting quality standards and the deadlines, the lack of an existing vehicle, through the financing of the EDB, and, most importantly, changes in the political party in power. Project partners had a position from which a new alliance with the new government negotiate management to develop. Since Wal-Mart was determined to ensure the continuity and expansion of the SDC project, Wal-Mart had continued in the project champion role. 2) development of strategies for further development of the local economy by market forces and entrepreneurship, and 3) the assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of partnerships with governments and civil 1) adapting to a global international company CSR strategies to local conditions : Students will be exposed to topics such as society, and 4) the creation and management of a public-private partnership
